About
This is the engineering blog of Methodox Technologies, Inc., where we write about visual programming: what it is good for, where it falls down, and what we have learned building Divooka — a general-purpose visual programming system.
Most of what appears here falls into one of three kinds:
- Treatises — longer arguments about programming paradigms, language design and where node-based systems fit among the alternatives.
- Technical notes — specific problems we hit and how we solved them, usually with the design reasoning left in.
- Announcements — releases, milestones and the occasional reflection on how the work is going.
We write for people who already program, or who are seriously curious about how programming tools are made. Posts are opinionated and tend to be long. Nothing here is marketing copy.
Elsewhere
- Methodox Wiki — documentation, API reference and tutorials
- Divooka — the product this blog is mostly about
- DevLog — shorter, rougher, more frequent development notes
